What is Sound Therapy?
Body Songs offers healing through sound therapy utilizing what are commonly known as Tibetan, or Himalayan, singing bowls that are traditionally made from the seven sacred metals (gold, silver, iron, mercury, tin, copper, and lead) that align with the seven chakras of the human body.
The use of singing bowls in Tibet dates back to the 8th century when Buddhism was introduced to the country, although the making of these bowls goes back about 2400 years.
Body Songs uses hand hammered metal bowls imported from Nepal which produce a deep, penetrating sound and strong physical vibrations through the body to improve physical and emotional health and well-being.
A typical session lasts about an hour during which various bowls, tuned to different musical notes, are placed on and around the client's body and struck or rubbed by the therapist to produce healing sound and vibration.
This therapy produces a profound sense of relaxation that promotes emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental healing.
